Applications are now being accepted for the 2024 Norman G. Swenson Scholarship along with the 2024 Activism scholarship.
The NGS scholarship is a $1,600 award presented to one student from each of the 14 colleges where Local 1600 has a union chapter. Students must be a current, full-time student to qualify.

The Activism scholarship is a $1,600 award presented to one student who has worked to make their communities, city and/or country a better and more just place. The awardee should be presently active in campaigning for change/reform in the areas of unionism, social justice issues, environmentalism, politics, and/or racial reconciliation. Activism may take the form of organizing, marching, writing, fundraising, strike action, and leadership in areas mentioned. The application and more details are here:
