Political Action Team
Our power as a union doesn’t stop at the bargaining table. It grows when we organize everywhere decisions are made. A lot of what all workers have today (overtime pay, food and drug laws, Medicare, Social Security, health and safety regulations, the public education system) exists because organized labor took political action.
If you’ve felt the call to action in this political moment, this is the place to answer it. Get face to face with electeds, back pro-labor leaders, and hold officeholders to their promises.
The Political Action Team meets at 6pm on the last Thursday of every month. We alternate between meeting virtually on Zoom and meeting in the union office: 1901 W Carroll Ave, Suite 200 Chicago, IL.
No prior political experience is required! This is an open, welcoming group for any CCCTU member ready to fight alongside your union siblings.
Contact Local 1600 Organizers Alex or Juan with any questions.
