No Kings Rally

Updated: 56 minutes ago

On Saturday, June 14th, Cook County College Teachers Union members made their voices heard at Chicago’s No Kings Day Rally, a powerful demonstration rejecting authoritarianism and reaffirming democratic values.

Centered around Daley Plaza, the rally was part of a nationwide day of defiance aligned with Flag Day and President Trump’s birthday. Spearheaded by Indivisible Chicago and the ACLU of Illinois, the movement’s message was clear: "America has no king."

Cook County College Teachers Union members joined thousands downtown to protest threats to democracy, education funding, and civic freedoms. Our members highlighted deep concerns over potential cuts to higher education aid and broader implications for public education.

Members also rallied at demonstrations in the suburbs, including Elmhurst.
